Ms Punsumberry works in a library and keeps her small change in a shovel purse. She eats very little but drinks constant hot tea and consumes an inordinate amount of sweet biscuits which she likes to dip in her teacup.She is a spinster and harbours a secret gambling addiction. Her closest friend and confedant is her pet budgerigar Gerald who has been witness to her gradual descent into alcoholism and gambling over the last twenty years.
